There is truly no other place like Welch, WV. Once a booming coal town, Welch now has a much smaller population. Welch and McDowell County have garnered much attention over the past decade. The New York Times and CNN have published and produced different pieces highlighting the county and its unique way of life that still exists here in the mountains.
