Cliffside Cottage is nestled in the heart of historic Williamson, West Virginia. Our newly renovated two (2) bedroom one (1) bath has been completely renovated; comfortably sleeps six (6) and is very close to plenty of activities. The master bedroom includes one full and three twin beds. In the secondary bedroom, you can enjoy a queen and a twin. Both bedrooms have a television with an Amazon fire sticks to watch your favorite movies and shows. The shared bathroom sits directly between both bedrooms. On the main level, you will find a living and dining area separated by a foyer with free Wi-Fi and a desk. As you move into the kitchen, you will find a bar top with two (2) barstools and brand-new stainless-steel appliances throughout. On the backside of the kitchen is the screened-in sunroom. And the door leading down from the kitchen provides access to a completely unfinished basement where a full-size washer and dryer and utility sink, and toilet reside. The basement stairs will lead you over to the extra-long driveway that provides plenty of space for automobiles and trailers. In addition, street parking is available directly in front of the home as well. The Cliffside Cottage is easy to get to via GPS, but some like a description, so here we go: If you take highway 119 to Williamson, you will come to the green Harvey Street Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, you will stay straight through (2) traffic lights, then go under the train track overpass. You will immediately make a right and then a sharp left to head up to continue on Harvey Street. At that point, you will see the old Willamson High School and come to a stop sign. You will then make a left and head up the hill toward the former Williamson Memorial Hospital (now the Williamson Health and Wellness Center). Once you can see the hospital, you will also see a sign on the right that says Mulberry Street. You will make a sharp right at that point. This is where you will see the “Old Hospital on the Hill” (If the road and cars parked along the side make you a little nervous, you should be able to park here). As you continue around the left bend, Cliffside Cottage will be the 4th house on your right, with the fire hydrant and long driveway. PARKING: You can park in the driveway or in front of the property on the street. As mentioned earlier, you “might” be able to park back towards the Old Hospital; however, this is not ours, and we are not responsible if you get fined or towed. THERMOSTAT: When you enter the dining room, the thermostat is mounted to the wall right before entering the kitchen. Feel free to adjust it how you see fit, but please don’t turn it below 65 or above 74 degrees. TV: We have several televisions throughout the home with Amazon Firesticks connected to the internet. We provide the ability to use; however, your personal login information will be required to access compatible applications. There are some free apps available for you to watch. LOCATIONS OF COMMON ITEMS: We provide all the dishes, silverware, and pots and pans you should need. There is a small supply of dishwashing liquid, dish soap, laundry detergent, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, and bathroom toiletries are also provided. Unfortunately, you will need to get more on your own if you use more than what is provided. Basic cleaning supplies will also be provided and are located underneath the sink. There is also a small sampling of coffee near the Keurig. APPLIANCES: The stove is a gas stove, and it runs a little hot. Please make sure you turn it off after use. Just give it a quick double-check. The washer and dryer are in the basement. They’re pretty straightforward to use. Please don’t overload either, and please make sure to empty the lint screen once you finish drying. Favorite things to do: 1. Hatfield McCoy Trail System 2. Outlaw Trails 3. Hospital on College Hill 4. Coal House in Downtown Williamson HOUSE RULES: – No pets allowed. – No smoking inside the home. – No parties or events. – Check-out is at 11:00 AM. – Please refrain from making noise past 11:00 PM. We do our best to ensure every guest has the best stay here. If you have any questions or concerns. 1 mile will put you downtown on 2nd Ave., where restaurants and bars are located. The Trail Ten trailhead is also about a mile. You could also mosey on up old Airport Road to access an intersection of the Hatfield McCoy trail system. In approximately 8 miles, you can enter at the trailhead on Buffalo Mountain. For other events and activities, you can walk down to the “Old Hospital on the Hill” for spooky and SCAREtastic-like experiences. A mile and a half in the right direction will lead you over to eastern Kentucky, where you can access shopping and grocery and experience other outlaw trails.
