This nearly 100 year old, newly remodeled home is located in the family friendly neighborhood of Kanawha City. A short walk to Highland Hospital and blocks away from local restaurants, fast food, grocery and shopping. A short drive to CAMC Memorial and The University of Charleston and located less than a mile from I-64 (Exit 95 Westbound). Relax on the front porch or bring your bikes to enjoy the Kanawha City Bike Route just a few pedals away. This historic, single family home has been passed down from generation to generation for over 50 years; it all started with Freda! She loved cooking and hosting her family during the holidays and you can feel her warmth as soon as you step inside! With a new and fresh look with sliding barn doors upstairs and some original features like the beautiful brick wall, this home provides 2 full bathrooms one on the main level and the other on the second level and sleeps with a kids room that has a bunk bed (twin over full) with a additional twin trundle bed underneath and 2 queen bedrooms. The couch in the living room is also a pull out sofa bed with a queen mattress, for those that may not want to walk up steps. (All bedrooms are on the 2nd floor). A homey living room and spacious dining room/lounge with a dedicated workspace. The kitchen is stocked with all cooking essentials to enjoy a home cooked meal with the family and a washer and dryer are located on the main level. The front porch provides a great view of the mountains and a comfy back deck to enjoy the weather and backyard for you and your pets. And if you’re traveling with kids, you’ll be able to take them back in time with the opportunity to watch classic Disney movies VHS style from our collection over the years! You won’t be able to do that anywhere else but here! Guest will have access to the entire home. All communication will be conducted through the AirBnB platform for security and safety measures! The host and cohost are available during your entire stay. You will be in the city of Charleston in the Kanawha City neighborhood! MacCorkle Avenue will take you anywhere you need to go including beautiful downtown Charleston! Just two streets ahead towards the river is Kanawha Avenue where the Kanawha City Bike Route begins with views of lovely homes for a 7 mile ride or short walk. Traveling with GPS is recommended if your not familiar with the area. If you don’t have transportation Uber and Lyft are available as well as public transportation. There is a Ring Doorbell security camera located on the front door. There is enough space for 2-3 cars to park out front with possible parking in the backyard if needed for larger vehicles and small campers!
